Medical Acupuncture and Electroacupuncture
Medical acupuncture is practiced through the insertion of fine needles into targeted points that stimulate and modulate the nervous system. Benefits include pain control, improved circulation and homeostasis (systemic balance) as well as decreased anxiety and stress. With minimal risks or negative side effects, acupuncture offers treatment for a variety of conditions including arthritis, joint disease, neurologic disease and injury, myofascial disease and trigger point pathology. Electroacupuncture uses a small electrical current to transmit stimulation to the neuromuscular system via the needles which can provide additional benefits to some patients.
